Pre-open 12-29-2006...

Here is my watchlist for today. I feel it may be a little risky taking a position today given the four day market weekend coming up, but it may also be a positive as the first week of January is historically good (or so I believe).

CAKE, FLR, WFT, CYBX, NATI and VRTX

Two losers...

Wow, it's been 9 days since my last post. I've been busy, busy with the holidays. In addition, the stock picks were just losers, but that is the way it goes. YUM had a nice weak hand shake-out on Wednesday and I sold. Luckily it recovered before the PM sell window and I managed to save some loss. COO just could not pop, so I sold it Thursday PM after it fell through my stop loss. That's the way it goes...Trade details:

Sold 5.05902 shares of YUM @ $58.839
Sold 4.40820 shares of COO @ $44.587

Nets:

YUM: -$2.33 or -0.78%
COO: -$3.45 or -1.73%

Likely too large a loss in COO. Both trades really hurt my December P/L, but I'm here to take risk and reap rewards.

Two more trades...

Will all of today's candidates and higher market in the morning, is was inevitable I would be making some trades. Check my notes and I'll post any selling.

COO:

YUM:

Things looked okay at the close, but I am surely apprehensive going into the holiday shortened, end of the month, quarter, year. Fun, fun.

Pre open 12-20-2006 (and a trade)...

Closed CCL yesterday after it fell near my initial buy point. While it did bounce back before my sell window, I sold anyways as the last thing I want to do is turn a gain to a loss. It also frees up capital, which turns out to be really nice because I found some great looking charts.

Sold 2.10349 shares @ $47.996 for a net of:

CCL: +$2.12 or +1.06%

As for this morning, lots of charts downloaded, over 300, and some very nice candidates: GCO, HAE, JCOM, AYI, JBX, RGR, COO, LPNT, YRCW, HCR, HOT, UTX, YUM.

I'll post a trade if the market cooperates.

Pre-open 12-19-2006 and a sale update...

I won't even start by saying how late this post is. It is what it is. Not that anyone is really reading this, so...
Sold the remaining stake in MGI after it did not follow-through last Friday. 4.81387 shares @ $31.488 making my net on the trade:

MGI: +$5.25 or +1.75%

As for today, just a couple stocks to watch although I am not expecting a lot given the futures...: PZZA, MOT, and ASTE

I'll (eventually) post any trades I make,

Pre-open 12-15-2006...

Some beautiful charts today, but since I am already in two positions, I likely won't trade. It is so tempting, especially given the CPI. The markets are in rally mode, but it may be a fade the gap play today. I'll give the candidates a quick look and go from there.

Watch list: EXBD, CHH, JDAS, LSTR, COMS, CEPH, CAKE, CREE, and HNI

Taking profits, big and small II...

Nice morning rally in the markets today, surprising given the pop in oil, but I'll take it. Both MGI and CCL hit my first targets and I sold half of each position. Time will tell if this rally continues. Both stocks traded down after hitting my target, but given the recent market action (toppy and sideways) I am more than happy to lock in some profits before the end of the year.

Sold 4.81386 shares of MGI at $31.922
Sold 2.10349 shares of CCL at $48.092

I'll update my net results after I close these positions. I am expecting the 1% trailing stop to be hit sooner than later as this market could roll-over any given minute.

CCL...

Took a smaller than usual postion in CCL yesterday (Wednesday) after it was holding up well in a weak market. Slightly concerning trade, but also adjusted upside/downside target to reflect a tricky market. See my notes:

Pre-open 12-13-2006...

Once again, no trade as I did not see the benefit of chasing the market just to watch it drop, and it did. Sectors are a great way to filter trades without being chained to the overall market. It works.

Watch list: CLP, RLI, CCL, and JBL

Pre-open 12-12-2006...

Did not take a position yesterday as things just did not 'feel' right. I don't like trading on feeling, but most of my candidates popped early with the market and flat-lined. ET was a possiblity, but the sector was down, so I passes.

Today there is only one candidate: HLIT, so who knows if it will pan out. It is an FOMC day, so there is a high probablity I won't trade, but may have MGI pop if they 'do the right thing'.

Buy and sell...

I am behind in posting, but that is nothing new. Sold the remaining STTX after it fell through my stop loss in the AM. Luckily the 11am window was near the high of the day, so I was very pleased with the lucky timing.

STTX: Sold 8.50769 shares at $17.87: Net: +$2.32 or +0.77%

Also entered a position in MGI after it had a nice morning. Stock is forming a nice base that will hopefully be exited on the upside. See my notes:

That's all for now. I'll get a watch list up tomorrow morning before the open.

November Results...

The OMG trade at the end of the month really improved the November results, although they were still quite okay without the nice OMG addition.

November: +$40.13 or +18.02%; 5 total trades w/ 4 winners (80% win rate)

I was very, very patient through November. UST and RDN took forever to grow, but the patience was well rewarded. In reality, I would rather stick with a winning stock over many weeks than be in-and-out of many stocks, churning my profits. Of course, a three day 10% gain, like OMG is always appreciated.

Here's to a successful and profitable December.

OMG Closed...

Closed the final half of the OMG trade after it waffled and faded today. I cannot complain, this was my best trade to date and really made for a wonderful November. If I could find 1 of these trades every quarter, my results would be just fine. The details:

Sold 3.26640 shares @ $50.50 for a net of $164.95, total trade:

OMG: +$30.82 or +10.27%

Thank you Mr. Oh my god, what a ride. STTX is still holding on although I am losing faith. It always finds a way to remain above my stop loss, but never appreciating. Oh well. November results will follow

Taking profits, big and small...

After yesterday's admirable performce, it was time to take profits in OMG and STTX. And boy did OMG live up to it's 'oh my god' moniker. It exploded today, at one time it was up nearly 10%. STTX on the other hand gave back most of yesterday's gains and left me with a minimal profit, but that is the way it goes. Details below:

Sold 3.2664 shares of OMG at $50.781 for a total of $165.87
Sold 8.50768 shares of STTX at $17.666 for a totoal of $150.30

I'll post net details once the positions are closed. November results are also waiting on the OMG closure.

STTX...

Had today's candidates narrowed down to STTX or A (five day intraday charts for comparisons). Decided to run with STTX (standard chart) as it came of the intraday high and found support at the intraday low. Given the market rally and sector support, the trade was a surefire green light. So far so good. I was almost tempted to turn the swing trade into an intraday scalp as I was up +1.5% between the AM window (11am) and the PM window (2pm), but decided to stick to my system, STAY OBJECTIVE, and wait for my target (which was subsequently hit later in the afternoon). So I'll be taking partial profits in the morning. Like OMG, the fill was later than I expected and cost me a few cents-but that is life.

My notes:

OMG has come around as well. Being objective is the hardest thing in the world to do, but I'm sticking to my guns. I will not take profits until $48 is hit (or so I hope).

I'll post a watch list tonight, but won't be trading it as I am fully invested for the moment.

Pre-open 12-04-2006...

Morning, another week, another dollar? or many? Not much to say today. OMG tanked in the afternoon on Friday, no big deal, still in the green.

Watch list: STTX, A, SLM, PRXL, IVGN, and JCI

I'll keep you posted,

Pre-open 12-01-2006...

Wow, December already. I'll post my November results once the OMG trade is closed. But for now, a watch list for the first of the month.

I'm watching: PPG, FEIC, SCHS, CBRL, ZBRA, and NSC. Personally, the charts of FEIC and SCHS look the best, but SCHS bested me last week...

Have fun with this market,
