OMG...
Everytime I see this ticker I cannot help but think "Oh my god" and today it lived up to it. Stock looked good this morning so I took a full position. Usually my foliofn trades take 15-20 minutes so I thought it was gravy, but today it took 40 mintues, so I got burned on price. I was looking for $45.70 and got $45.90. In the end, Mr. Oh My God returned the favor and closed above both prices leaving me temporarily in the green. I'll take it. Check out my notes for the details.
OMG:
Markets looked okay today, we'll see if they followthrough. One can only hope. I can say it is nice getting back to full positions. While on a percentage basis my last few trades (UST, CGX) looked great, they stunk in terms of dollars. Of course the opposite is always true.

Opps, been a while...
Markets have been boring and candidates have been hard to find, so I've been slacking on posting, but maybe things are turning around.
First, I sold UST finally late last week. Sold 0.93331 shares at $55.973 for a net of:
UST: +$3.84 or +3.85%
Next, a good set of candidates for today, Nov. 29th. I'm watching: COMS, ENR, CMA, F, WFC, OMG, SMRT, HUM and WAG
I'll (hopefully) post trades soon after making them.

Sold, sold, sold...
Finally exited CGX during a weak morning and closed SCHS after it hit my stop loss early in the morning. Both transactions may be too rushed given the abbreviated trading day on Friday, but I want to honor my strategy at all times, not just during 'normal' periods. Therefore I sold and luckily, both stocks rallied into the trade window.
Sold 8.01282 shares of SCHS at $37.349 a nice price given the early AM $37 price.
Sold 1.30412 shares of CGX at $59.864
Nets:
CGX, +$5.01 or +3.34%
SCHS, -$0.73 or -0.24%
I sure like keeping my winners running and my losses small!
I am contemplating updating my procedure for trailing stops. Usually, I sell half my position after my first price target is met, then trail a stop 1% that sell price. If the stock rises by another 1%, I'll increase the stop and so on. I only raise the level if the price is above the given level within 5 min of my trading window--kinda complicated I know. But, I am questioning this logic, and I think I should increase the stop if the stock ever rises above my target, not just near my window.
No watch list for Monday as I am concerned the charts do not really reflect a 'normal' trading day and it is hard to gauge volume etc.

SCHS...
Entered a trade (full trade now that I have capital) in SCHS after a nice setup was found last night and a good morning was printed. See my notes for details. The stock waffled in the morning and closed slightly below my buy point. We will see if it holds. The one nice thing about the trade is the stop loss point is nice and tight, but is found at good support, leaving me with good upside:downside AND being realistic. I'll post any activity. Can you believe UST and CGX? What beauties and now that I posted this they are likely to tank, downgrades and all.
My notes:
Quick watch list today, nothing too exciting: CA and PPG

Pre-open 11-20-2006...
Finally, my recent deposit into my trading account has cleared and I have capital ready to go, now I just need some trades.
Sold RND today after it (grossly) violated my 1% trailing stop loss. Sold 1.40099 shares $53.47. Net details:
RDN: +$1.19 or +0.79%
Took a loss on the second 1/2 of the position, but did not give it all back, which is want I ultimately want.
Watch List: SCHS, PFGC, CRL, and MI.

Wow, my 100th post for this blog and it comes at a great time. November is a great month so far, although on only a few trades. Hopefully this will keep up through the holidays and I'll end the year on a good note.
Watch list: BID, AIN, KEI, and ISRG. All these charts look nice and I wish I had capital to invest, but I am going to let my winners run (something that goes against every thing logical...).

Taking profits..and a watch list...round 2...
Took some profits on RDN as it finally got a bid today. It did not quite met my Target 1, but decided since this stock came back from the brink, any profit is worth grabbing. Still, it did get close to my target and given I've been in this stock for two weeks, it is about time.
Sold 1.40099 shares at $54.39. Will post final P/L after I close the trade.
Watch list: CAG, CLP, and PGR.

Taking profits...and a watch list...
Finally, stocks hitting my targets, it is about time. It is so nice taking profits. Patience is surely paying off, literally!
Sold 0.93330 shares of UST for $54.934 (below my $55 price, but fine!)
Sold 1.30412 shares of CGX for $59.00 (right on my target)
I'll post the final P/L after the trades are fully closed.
Watch list: SRDX, AMMD, HOLX, OMG, SIE, CVH, and HSP
I am hoping the CPI follows the PPI and the market likes it. I am actually surprised by the market action after the FOMC minutes today, a nice surprise.

Good little pop at the close yesterday brought a couple of my trades near their first targets. Hopefully the CPI will cooperate and push the market higher, if not, oh well.
Watch list: ITG, UHS, LFG, LOJN, PVTB, AMGN, FDO, PGR, and WPI.
Hopefully I'll be posting partial profit trades today or tomorrow.

CGX...
Now that I have my virtual printer working, here are my notes on a trade in CGX. This stock kept showing up on my nightly charts and the day I entered it, it looked to be breaking out of its sideways trend. Hopefully...
My notes:
This market is really testing my patience. UST has been <1% away from my first target on a couple of occasions but gets sold off in the morning. Bastards, oh well, I am holding firm. RDN is all over the place.

Still waiting for UST to reach Target 1 and RDN to get back to even. Oh well, patience grasshopper.
Watch List: AIN, SRDX, CMI, CHP, CSAR, MLI, NEW, MSM, UTSI, IP, HCR, and SNDK. Most likely will not be trading any of the above, but still will be watching their action.

Actually took a trade in CGX on Friday, but I cannot get my virtual printer to work, so I'll post my notes once I get everything back to normal.

That downgrade of BBX just chaps me, but it is a risk is always present, and I've been lucky in reality. Especially given my unique trading windows. But enough of that, October still was a good month and now I'm hoping to repeat in November.
Watch list: CGX and NXL, not many charts today. CGX just won't go away, I believe this is the third signal this week. Maybe it's telling me something?

Closed Trades and Oct. Results
Forced to close my BBX trade after a bozo analyst downgraded the stock and it dropped off a cliff. Oh well, I'm glad it happened after the stock had run-up rather than right after I entered the trade. Also, the stock popped slightly from the lows of the day before I had the opportunity to sell.
Sold 5.91261 shrs @ $13.048.
BBX: +$3.02 or +2.01% (should've been 5% if not for that crappy downgrade, bastard)
Also, since I finally closed my last October trades, I can post my results.
October: +$12.26 or +8.17% (in 10 trades with 50% win rate), I'll take it.

Whew, election fears were a load of crock and I enjoyed the ride. UST breathed a sigh of relief after the CA amendment did not pass taxing their tobacco and popped up nearly two percent. BBX continued to run and RDN fought hard to get back to even.
So many charts today given the markets quasi-engulfing (since it engulfed Tuesday's up candle vs. the usual down candle). I picked the best looking charts, but, like the watch lists created all week, I won't be paying much attention since I'm basically fully invested.
Watch: LFG, BBG, GFF, PNRA, AOS, TDY, CREE, MHK, MSM, URI, WSM, and TIN

Hmmm, this election mess could really hurt my trading. UST crashed at 3pm today, because of Democrat fears? I don't know. Sucks.

Tomorrow will be interesting...

Pre-open 11-07-2006...
Great day in the markets, love those bull runs. All my trades are looking good and I took some partial profits in BBX, maybe RDN and UST tomorrow??? I am slightly concerned about holding a tobacco stock going into the elections, but...
Lots of good charts after last week's pullback. I have 16 that fit the bill (after tossing a couple good looking charts, but with doji above the change in trend...). I'll be watching: OMI, PIR, ADM, ARTC, CHP, IDXX, SIE, TDY, GGG, IVGN, RFMD, TNB, WL, CINF, GD, and INTC. It is more candidates than I usually prefer to have, but I'd rather be slightly less restrictive and provide the best opportunities for making some quick cash.

BBX partial close...
Took partial profits, finally, in the BBX trade when it spiked early this morning. This has been an amazing test of my patience. This is the first time I stuck with my plan, stuck with my stop loss and targets, and it has paid off. Numerous times I was tempted to either take very small profits or get out when it was down. But I held my ground and am now reaping the benefits.
Details: Sold 5.67935 shrs @ $13.36, (opps, I did not get out exactly half, guess I cannot divide!). Will post full details when I fully close the position. For now, my stop loss is for $13.23 with a target of $13.49.
Watch list to follow.

Finally, the markets are rolling over, taking a much needed rest. In my quick take on the SPY's, I'd note the slow stochastics are nearing my ideal entry level (a cross over below 30) while the CCI is drifting lower, but not below my ideal -100. I am looking for a pullback to 135 and then 131. A full pullback would be nice as it would wash out the quick mo-mo players and get the media off the 'record'/'new' high blah, blah. Time will tell.
Notes:
Watch list: LKQX, WCN, VCI, KRON
Positions in RDN, BBX, and UST will be updated as things happen. Luckily, I was able to add to my retirement account and can support either more positions or larger positions. Right now I am looking to get back to larger positions to exploit moves.

RDN...
Quick details on my Friday trade. Slightly tricky chart as the stock continues to drop after the initial selloff, rather than my preferred basing. Nonetheless, the stock was up on the day after the bullish engulfing printed on Thursday. The stock had a nice pop in the afternoon to fall back to my buy point by the close. No biggie.
Notes:
I still have positions in BBX and UST and will update as needed. I'll also post my October results once the BBX trade is closed.

Pre-open 11-03-2006...
Sold CNB yesterday after it reached my original stop loss early in the morning. Luckily, it partially recovered before my AM window and my loss was minimized.
Sold 6.29723 shrs @ $23.548 for a net of: -$1.71 or -1.14%
On a brighter note, BBX recovered throughout the day after being down early. For once, staying the course and honoring my original targets saved some profits. I am likely jinxing tomorrow, but we'll see.
Watch List: GGC, MRX, OCR, RDN, and DE out of 211 charts downloaded.
I'll post trades if they happen, could be an interesting day.

Pre open 11-02-2006 (and a trade)...
Morning all,
Futures looking okay, coming back some after WMT. I did place a trade in UST yesterday after its sector was higher and it put in a nice early morning base. It proved a good trade, but time will tell. Currently BBX and CNB reversed hard on me and are now loses. That makes 3 stocks in a row that were profitable (between 0.5 to 2.0%) and have turned. Not going to change my method yet, just accept it as the way the market is currently working.
UST:
Only 27 charts downloaded last night and I liked GD. Big red candles, like those printed yesterday, don't make for good chart patterns :)

Pre-open 11-01-2006...
Morning all, hope the holiday drinking was not too overdone. I did mine last Saturday, so I am up and ready this morning. I was getting impatient with BBX and CNB yesterday, but realized that I need to relax and let the stocks come in. Time is not a component of my system, so if it takes hours, days, or weeks to reach my target that is the way it goes. I do get slightly worried about having my money lock up in stocks and at risk for exogenous events, but that is investing.
Watch list: SBIB, RSH, UST
Enjoy the markets, futures are looking okay, and hopefully I'll be able to take some profits. Once the BBX and CNB trades are fully closed, I'll post my October results. Not to jinx my numbers, but Oct. is looking okay, likely high single digit % profit.
